While the glory for Rueda Racing Kings’ drivers and crews comes after a well-earned checkered flag, we believe that the reward comes by helping each other off the track. From the front office to the teams on the track, Rueda Racing Kings is dedicated to helping those in need, wherever they may be, in any way we can.

To that end, Rueda Racing Kings has proudly lent our help to the following charities:

Alex Speaks

Dr. Bernie Gonzalez has been a longtime friend of Rueda Racing Kings and we’re proud to be a supporter of Alex Speaks, an organization dedicated to raising awareness and helping find treatments for autism. It’s a cause close to Bernie’s heart, since his young son was diagnosed with autism shortly after his second birthday. As a part of his campaign, Bernie helps to produce a Voices of Latin Rock Awareness for Autism event that has featured members of WAR, Azteca, Malo, Santana, El Chicano and Sly and the Family Stone. The event raises funds for schools in the Bay Area that help treat autism every day.

Chernobyl Children’s Project

Chernoble Children's Project Shortly after the horrific nuclear catastrophe at Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in the Ukraine, Ed Rueda felt as if he had to do something to help. As a father, Ed knew there were sure to be families that needed help and he reached out to the Chernobyl Children’s Project to see what he could do. The agency referred him to a family who had lost their mother to cancer after being exposed to radiation. As the result of that introduction, Ed welcomed Mikail, the eight-year-old son, into his home. “We’ve developed a great relationship and had a great time since he’s been coming out here,” Ed says. “We talk often when he’s back in Minsk and he wants to come here to go to college. I’m lucky to be able to be there for him and his family.”
